Mirra Andreeva began her campaign at the hard-court WTA 500 tournament in Singapore, which has a prize fund of $1.2 million, with a convincing win. In the second round, the top seed defeated Aliaksandra Sasnovich 6-2, 6-2 to reach the quarterfinals. The match lasted 72 minutes.
Both sets ended with the same scoreline of 6-2. Andreeva did not drop a set and over the two sets allowed Sasnovich to win no more than two games twice.
