Japanese player Nao Hibino, the world No. 157 and the second seed in qualifying, won her opening match in the qualifying draw for the WTA 500 event in Singapore. In the first round of qualifying, she defeated Singaporean player Kai Ning Chanya Ng, 6-0, 6-1. The tournament is being played on hard courts, with a prize money of $1,2 mln.
The first set was a shutout in Hibino's favor. In the second set, Kai Ning Chanya Ng managed to win one game, but it had no effect on the outcome: 6-1, and the match, which lasted 48 minutes, belonged to the Japanese player.
