Gustavo Heide beat Pedro Boscardin Dias in the semifinal of the Campeonato Internacional de Tênis in Curitiba by 6-2, 6-3 to reach the final. According to api.tennis, the top seed went all the way to the title match without dropping a set.
A win without a prolonged battle
Heide took the first set 6-2. In the second, Boscardin Dias won more games, but the result of the set remained the same: Heide closed it out 6-3. Final sets: 2:0.
Before the semifinal, Heide had successively defeated Hernan Casanova: 6-2, 6-1, Felipe Meligeni Alves: 6-3, 6-4 and Lautaro Midon: 6-2, 6-4. The victory over Boscardin Dias continued his run to the final without losing a set.
Boscardin Dias's path to the semifinal was tougher in the quarterfinals. After wins over Victor Hugo Remondi Pagotto and Genaro Alberto Olivieri by the same scoreline of 6-4, 6-2, he beat Guto Miguel: 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. Against Heide, he was unable to take a set.
