American Sydney Wright won the J100 junior tournament in Accra. In the final, the third seed defeated Poland's Alisha Ndukwu, the top seed, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6, api.tennis reports.
Wright's path to the title began with a three-set match: in the first round she dropped the opening set to Kudzai Erin Patience Chapepe but won the match 6-7, 6-4, 7-5. She then beat Success Ogunjobi 7-6, 6-3 and Milana Kolesova 6-3, 6-0. Ndukwu defeated Prisha Nikhil Shinde 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinal and Pippa Fennis 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 in the semifinal.
