Badosa and Kunitsyn win Indian Wells and Moscow finals

We look back at the hard-court semifinals and finals in Indian Wells, Moscow, Stockholm and Vienna in 2021 and 2008. Match results and durations are according to api.tennis.

In the 2021 Indian Wells final, Paula Badosa beat Victoria Azarenka: 7-6(5), 2-6, 7-6(2). The match lasted 184 minutes. Both sets won by Badosa were decided in tiebreaks.

In the semifinal of the same tournament, Badosa defeated Ons Jabeur: 6-3, 6-3 in 81 minutes. Azarenka reached the final after beating Jelena Ostapenko: 3-6, 6-3, 7-5. Their match lasted 140 minutes.

The hard-court final in Moscow in 2008 was won by Igor Kunitsyn against Marat Safin: 7-6(6), 6-7(4), 6-3. In the semifinal, Kunitsyn beat Fabrice Santoro: 6-4, 6-3 in 91 minutes. In the other semifinal, Safin advanced past Mischa Zverev with a W/O result.

In the 2008 Stockholm semifinal, Robin Söderling defeated Kei Nishikori: 6-1, 6-0 in 44 minutes. The Vienna semifinal between Gael Monfils and Philipp Kohlschreiber lasted 171 minutes, with Monfils winning 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(2). Both matches were played on hard court.
