2015. Djokovic without a loss

In the semifinal on the Shanghai hard courts, Novak Djokovic beat Andy Murray 6:1, 6:3. In the other semifinal, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated Serena Paris in three sets, 6:4, 0:6, 7:5. After losing the second set without winning a game, the Frenchman took the decisive set. In the final, Djokovic proved too strong for Tsonga, winning 6:2, 6:4, needing just 78 minutes for the decisive match. Across the entire day of play, the Serb did not drop a single set.

2009. Davydenko's day

Serena Paris reached the final after a semifinal against Feliciano Lopez. With the score at 6:1, 3:0 in Nadal's favor, Lopez chose not to continue the match, which lasted 51 minutes. The other semifinal turned out to be the longest match of the day. Nikolay Davydenko beat Novak Djokovic 4:6, 6:4, 7:6(1) in 183 minutes.

In the final, Davydenko defeated Nadal 7:6(3), 6:3 in 123 minutes to become the champion of the Shanghai Masters. Six years later, Djokovic, who had lost in the semifinal in 2009, won the tournament himself.
