Alena Kovačková

Biography

Alena Kovačková was born on June 13, 2008, in Trutnov, Czech Republic. She plays right-handed, with a two-handed backhand. She represents the Sparta Prague club. In junior tennis she quickly progressed from age-group competitions to the international level: in 2024 she won eight ITF Junior Tour titles and finished the season among the top players of her generation. In 2023, alongside Laura Samsonova, she won the girls' doubles title at Wimbledon. Later, her main partner became her younger sister Jana Kovackova: together they reached the final of the junior French Open in 2025, won the junior US Open in 2025, and the junior Australian Open in 2026. In 2025, Alena began playing regularly on the adult tour, claiming two ITF singles titles and qualifying for the WTA tournament in Prague, where she lost to Lucie Havlíčková. In doubles, she continues to compete mainly with Jana; in 2026 the sisters made their debut in the main draw of a WTA tournament and won their first match. Alena's career-high ranking is 385th in singles and 175th in doubles on the WTA Tour. She has yet to win a WTA title in either singles or doubles; at the junior level, she became a three-time Grand Slam doubles champion.
