Biography
Ammar Elamin was born on 19 June 2002 in Mullingar, Ireland. He plays right-handed, uses a two-handed backhand; his height is 185 cm. As a junior he represented Ireland at international tournaments: in 2018 he played doubles at an ITF boys' under-18 tournament in Rabat, and in 2020 took part in the qualifying of the junior Australian Open. Elamin subsequently graduated from Technological University Dublin and continued his career in senior tennis. In 2022 he was a finalist at the Irish indoor championship, and also played for the province of Leinster. In 2024 he was part of the Ireland Davis Cup team. His best result in the ATP ranking was No. 1356, which he reached on 28 October 2024. In 2025 Elamin performed successfully at the World University Games in Germany: in the singles event he won against opponents from Ecuador, China and Italy, reached the quarterfinal and finished the competition in fifth place. In June 2026 at the grass-court Challenger series tournament in Dublin he received a wild card into qualifying, beat Andres Andrade in three sets, and in the second round lost to Thanasi Kokkinakis. On the professional tour Elamin also played doubles, but singles remains his main specialisation. According to the available statistics, he has no titles or finals at ATP and ITF tournaments.
