Biography
Anna Kmiecik was born on 22 August 2008 in Poland and represents the Bytom club KS Górnik Bytom, on whose courts she grew up and continues to train. As a junior she quickly became one of the strongest in the country: she won the Polish junior girls' championship, and in early 2025 she took gold at the Polish winter under-18 championships in both singles and doubles. In the same season she also managed to win the national winter championship among adults, a rare result for a sixteen-year-old. In January 2026 Kmiecik defended her home title: in the final of the winter under-18 championships, held on the courts of her club in Bytom, she lost the first set to Marta Dudek but turned the match around and won 1–6, 6–3, 6–3. In parallel with her junior starts she is gaining professional experience, playing Polish stages of the national tour and ITF World Tennis Tour W15 tournaments, gradually moving up the WTA rankings; her career high in the singles rankings is No. 801. Kmiecik is among the recipients of the national program supporting young tennis talents.
