Biography
Ignacio Buse was born on March 25, 2004 in Lima. He is 183 cm tall. From early childhood he played tennis at the Country Club de Villa, later moving to Barcelona for training.
As a junior he climbed to No. 9 in the ITF world rankings (January 2022) and, together with Gonzalo Bueno, reached the French Open final in doubles.
He began his professional career with ITF tournaments: in 2023 he won titles in Zapopan and Mendoza, and in 2024 in Victoria. Also in 2023, paired with Jorge Panta, he played in the final of a Challenger event in Lima. In 2025 he made his ATP Tour debut, climbed into the top 125 and reached the final of a Challenger in Montevideo.
The real breakthrough came in 2026: a semifinal at the ATP 500 tournament in Rio de Janeiro, a Masters debut in Miami, and in May his first ATP title, coming through qualifying to beat Tommy Paul in the final of the German Open in Hamburg. In August he claimed his second title, on hard courts in Winston-Salem, becoming the youngest champion in the tournament's history. At the Slams this season his best results are the second round at Wimbledon and the US Open, and the first round at Roland Garros. His career-high ranking is No. 30 (August 31, 2026), and his current ranking is No. 35.
