Biography
Kaitlyn Carnicella was born on 27 January 2005 and grew up in the township of Whippany in New Jersey. She is about 163 cm tall. As a junior she was one of the strongest players of her age in the United States: she rose to third place in the national under-18 girls' rankings, won USTA "gold balls", played in the final of the national hard-court doubles championship and represented her country at the Les Petits As world junior championship. In 2022 she enrolled at Auburn, where she spent two seasons, and in the summer of 2024 she transferred to the University of South Carolina. There she established herself in the top position of the lineup: in the 2024/25 season she qualified for the NCAA individual championship for the first time, beat five opponents from the national top, and together with Sarah Hamner rose to tenth place in the college doubles rankings. For two years in a row, in 2025 and 2026, she was named to the All-SEC Second Team, and was also recognized with academic honors. In the college singles rankings she rose to about No. 33; alongside this she plays professional ITF tournaments in singles and doubles.
