Karim Bennani

Biography

Karim Bennani was born on 3 September 2007 in Morocco. He played on the ITF Junior Circuit from 2021: in 2023 he won a J100 title in singles and doubles, and in 2024 a J200. In February 2024 he rose to No. 53 in the junior rankings, and later to No. 39 (January 2025). In March 2025 he reached the final of the J300 tournament in Villena, losing to Alexander Vasilev, but won the doubles title with Maxwell Exted; in April he played another J300 doubles final in Beaulieu-sur-Mer.

In September 2024, as a lucky loser, he reached the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time — at the US Open he advanced to the second round. At Roland Garros the same year he made his doubles debut with his namesake Reda Bennani and also reached the second round.

Among the professionals he plays mainly at lower-tier ITF tournaments. He won his first title in October 2025 at an M15 in Monastir, becoming the youngest Moroccan ITF champion since Karim Alami (1991), and soon afterwards won doubles tournaments there and in Agadir. He first reached the ATP main tour with a wild card in Marrakech in 2024, playing in doubles with Hamza Karmoussi. In March 2026, at the same event, he earned his first main-tour ATP win, beating Quentin Halys in three sets, but lost in the second round to Yannick Hanfmann; in doubles, partnering Taha Baadi, he lost in the first round.

His career-high singles ranking is No. 421 (September 2026).
