Biography
Laima Vladson was born on 18 September 2007 and plays right-handed. She took up tennis in Lithuania: since 2019 her name has appeared in the records of national championships for twelve- and fourteen-year-olds, and she played for the Vilnius club Baltic Tennis Club. It was as a Lithuanian that Vladson made a name for herself on the ITF junior tour. Seven titles won on different continents — from Brazil and Paraguay to Slovakia, Kazakhstan, the UAE and Uzbekistan — took her into the top ten of the world junior rankings in autumn 2025. Her main result came in September of that year: at the junior Grand Slam tournament in New York she reached the doubles final together with the Belgian Gilene Vandromme, where the sisters Alena and Jana Kovačková proved stronger, 2–6, 2–6. Earlier still, in spring, Vladson had won two matches at the junior Grand Slam in Paris. In 2025 she also won her first senior title, winning the singles at the tournament in Tashkent. In November 2025 the Lithuanian changed her sporting nationality and announced that she would represent Uzbekistan; the country's federation confirmed the switch. Her first full season under the new flag went well: in August 2026 Vladson reached the main draw of the tournament in Leipzig.
