Biography

Lavinia Tanasie is a Romanian tennis player, born on 12 December 2003. She is right-handed. Her calendar consists almost entirely of ITF World Tennis Tour events, mostly on clay: W15, W35 and W75 tournaments in Romania, Italy and the Netherlands. She won her first title at the senior level in May 2024 in Bucharest, taking a W15 tournament with a $15,000 prize fund hosted by the club CS Galaxy: in the final she beat compatriot Carola Patricia Bejenaru 6–2, 2–6, 6–1 in two hours and seventeen minutes. A year later, in May 2025, at a tournament of the same level in Bucharest, Tanasie also succeeded in doubles: together with fellow Romanian Bianca Elena Barbulescu, she won the final against the pair of Diana-Ioana Simionescu and Lidia Encheva 3–6, 6–4, 10–5. In the WTA singles rankings she has risen as high as No. 494, and in doubles as high as No. 846. Her overall professional match record is 161 wins and 92 losses in singles and 34 wins and 33 losses in doubles; her most productive season was 2025, in which she won 43 singles matches, more than half of them on clay.
