Biography
Mell Elizabeth Reasco Gonzalez was born on 23 July 2002 in Esmeraldas, Ecuador. She is the daughter of Neiser Reasco, a former professional footballer; she became interested in tennis through her father's interest in the sport, although she herself did not play football.
As a junior she rose to No. 20 in the world rankings (24 February 2020) and was among the top four at the 2019 ITF Junior Masters. In the same season she played in the qualifying of the junior Roland Garros, competed at junior Wimbledon and represented Ecuador at the Pan American Games in Lima.
On the senior tour Reasco has won two singles and six doubles titles at ITF tournaments. She made her debut for the Ecuador team in the Fed Cup in 2019. Her career-high singles ranking is No. 328; her current doubles ranking is No. 215, her best result of recent seasons.
