Mwendwa Mbithi

Biography

Mwendwa Mbithi was born on 10 January 1998 and plays under the flag of the United States, although his first name and surname are of Kenyan origin. In all specialist registers, including the ITF, he is recorded under the American federation; no Kenyan appearances are recorded for him. He plays right-handed. He grew up in Boca Raton (Florida) — one of the main centres of junior tennis in the south of the country.

In his junior years the American recruiting system placed him in the top category of prospects with an approximate graduation year of 2016. However, no university team for which he played in the NCAA could be found: there are no traces of his participation in the college championship.

Mbithi spends his senior career at lowest-category professional tournaments, mostly in Florida and neighbouring states, playing both singles and doubles. His career highs are No. 704 in the ATP singles rankings and No. 536 in doubles. No titles at main-tour or preparatory-level tournaments have been recorded for him.
