Biography
N Vijay Sundar Prashanth was born on 27 October 1986 in Chennai. He is 183 cm tall. He started playing tennis at the age of five — his grandfather brought him to the court. He attended Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan school and graduated from Loyola College.
In singles he never rose above 335th (October 2015), but drew attention with a win over the India Davis Cup player Yuki Bhambri at a local tournament in Chennai in 2015. At the 2017 Asian Indoor Games in Ashgabat he won gold in doubles and silver in singles; at the 2016 South Asian Games in Guwahati he also took gold in doubles.
He built his main career in doubles: in November 2023 he entered the top hundred of the ATP rankings for the first time. In January 2024, with a wild card, he played the Australian Open main draw with Anirudh Chandrasekar, but lost in the first round. In September 2024 he won his only ATP title to date — the tournament in Hangzhou with Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, defeating the German pair of Frantzen and Jebens in the final. In autumn 2025, as an alternate, he played the US Open with Chandrasekar, winning the first round and losing in the second.
Among his other results is a title at the challenger in Vicenza in 2023 with Anirudh Chandrasekar.
