Biography

Nadiia Kichenok was born on 20 July 1992 in Dnipro (then Dnipropetrovsk). She stands 172 cm tall. She took up tennis at the age of seven on the courts of Crimea together with her twin sister Lyudmyla, who became her main doubles partner.

In singles she climbed as high as No. 100 in the world (6 January 2014), but built her career in doubles. She has represented Ukraine since 2010; in the Billie Jean King Cup (formerly the Fed Cup) her record stands at 10 wins and 7 losses.

She won her first WTA doubles title in 2015 in Shenzhen with her sister Lyudmyla, coming back from 0:5 in the second-set tiebreak of the final. She later won titles in St. Petersburg and Chicago (both in 2021, with Raluca Olaru) and in Tallinn in 2022, again with her sister. In 2023, with Anna-Lena Friedsam, she reached the final in Linz, losing in a deciding tiebreak.

In 2024, together with Lyudmyla, she reached the quarterfinals of the Olympic Games in Paris. In 2025 she won tournaments in Hamburg and Prague with Makoto Ninomiya, and once again reached the final in Linz with her sister. At Grand Slams, her best rounds in recent years are the fourth round at the 2025 Australian Open and the third round at the 2026 US Open.

According to the database, Nadiia has 8 WTA doubles titles and 10 runner-up finishes to her name; a number of sources cite 11 titles, apparently counting Shenzhen 2015 and the WTA Elite Trophy team event in Zhuhai (2018).
