Biography
Plamen Milushev is a Bulgarian tennis player from Sofia, born on 6 August 1994. He plays right-handed, uses a two-handed backhand; his height is 185 centimetres. He took up tennis at the age of eight. He began playing professional tournaments in 2012, and from 2014 played in them regularly. At the junior level he did not play on the international ITF tour. Milushev reached his highest result in singles in 2014: on 8 December he rose to No. 955 in the ATP ranking. In the same season he reached the semifinal of one singles tournament. In doubles his main achievement was the title at a Futures-series tournament in Bulgaria in 2014 with Tihomir Grozdanov. On 17 December 2018 Milushev set a career high in the doubles ranking, No. 966. In the period from 2016 to 2017 he hardly played, and in the second half of 2018 he returned to competition. In 2019 and 2020 his schedule was again limited. In 2021 Milushev played in the main draw of an ATP tournament for the first time: at the tournament in Sofia he got a place as an alternate in a pair with Radoslav Shandarov, but the Bulgarian duo lost in the first round. At the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 the player played his first matches at Challenger-series tournaments in doubles. At the national level Milushev twice won the Bulgarian indoor championship, in 2020 and 2024. In 2023 he was a finalist of the national open championship, losing to Simon-Antoine Ivanov. In 2025 Milushev, with Viktor Markov, reached the final of an ITF doubles tournament in Sofia. According to international statistics he has one title and four lost finals in doubles at the ITF level; in singles he has no ITF titles.
