Biography
Qian Sun was born on 12 July 2001 in Shanghai. Height 188 centimetres, plays right-handed. He lived in Australia for several years, then returned to China, enrolled at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and combined study with appearances at ITF tournaments. In September 2023 Sun won a doubles title at an M15 category event in Nakhon Si Thammarat in Thailand, and in the autumn of the same year tried his hand in the doubles qualifying of the China Open in Beijing. In February 2024 he was invited to the college team of the University of California, Berkeley, the California Golden Bears: for it he made his debut at the Pacific Coast doubles championship in La Jolla together with Alex Cheng. The Chinese player called studying at an American university a long-held dream. His personal best in the ATP doubles classification is No. 470, in singles No. 867. The main part of his calendar still falls on M15 category tournaments inside China: Guiyang, Wuning, Ma'anshan, Tianjin; in the 2026 season he won 15 matches out of 29.
