Biography
Robert Cash was born on March 7, 2001, in Westerville, Ohio (in some articles the birthplace is listed as the neighboring New Albany). He stands 193 cm tall. He played college tennis for Ohio State University and in 2024, together with James Tracy, won the NCAA doubles title.
He did not achieve much success in singles, never rising above No. 1026 (November 27, 2023), and focused on doubles instead. He won his first title at the adult level in 2023 at a Challenger event in Columbus with James Trotter.
In the summer of 2024, he made his ATP Tour debut on a wild card together with James Tracy and immediately reached the final in Newport, losing to Sem Verbeek and Andre Göransson. At the 2024 US Open, the pair got through the first round but lost in the second to Máximo González and Andrés Molteni. In February 2025, after winning a Challenger title in Cleveland, Cash entered the top 100 of the doubles rankings for the first time.
In the summer of 2025, Cash and Tracy won their first joint ATP Tour title in Los Cabos, defeating Blake Bayldon and Tristan Schoolkate in the final. At the 2025 US Open, they reached the semifinals, beating Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul along the way, but lost to the eventual champions Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos. By the end of the season, they were in the top 40 of the doubles rankings, and by the summer of 2026 Cash had climbed to No. 32, a career high; as of September 14, 2026, he is ranked No. 61 in the ATP doubles rankings.
