Biography
Selina Dal was born on 28 November 2001 and represents Germany; her hometown is Mainz. She took up tennis in childhood, and by the age of fourteen she was already the top-ranked player of her age group in the regional hierarchy, won the Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse state championships, and in a single season rose in the German rankings from 332nd place to 132nd; her early years are linked with the club TV Rüsselsheim-Hassloch, and her appearances at that time were supported by an automobile company from neighboring Rüsselsheim. Since 2016 she has played for the women's team of TC Ludwigshafen in the first and second Bundesliga — the team season remains a regular part of her calendar. In professional tennis Dal focuses on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, primarily at the W15 level, with occasional appearances at larger tournaments in Germany, the Netherlands, France and Egypt. In 2020 she reached the semifinal of the German indoor championships, where she lost in three sets. In April 2022 she won an open tournament in Würzburg. The most productive period for her was the summer of 2023: at the end of June she won an ITF doubles title, and at the end of July a singles title. In total she has one ITF singles title and five in doubles. In the world rankings Dal has risen as high as No. 547.
