Biography
Ymerali Ibraimi was born on 13 February 2009 in Australia and represents the state of Victoria; in Tennis Australia's records he is listed as a player from Melbourne. Ibraimi is right-handed and prefers an aggressive style built around his serve and baseline shots. He started playing tennis at an early age, and by 2021-2022 he was already among the top juniors in Victoria in the under-12 age group. In 2023, Tennis Australia included him in a European junior tour, after which he continued competing on the ITF junior circuit. In November 2023, Ibraimi reached his first singles final at a J30 event in Perth, and later went on to win a junior ITF tournament at the same venue. In February 2025, he became a finalist at the J100 Burnie, losing the deciding match to Jake Dembo 2:6, 6:1, 1:6. By the end of 2025, Ibraimi had reached the 100th position in the ITF junior rankings. In 2026, together with his compatriot Cooper Cowse, he reached the boys' doubles final at the Australian Open, where the Australian pair lost to Connor Doig and Dimitar Kisimov 3:6, 4:6. In adult tennis, Ibraimi has begun earning ranking points at ITF World Tennis Tour events: in December 2025, he claimed his first recorded main-draw win at an M15 tournament, defeating Emile Hudd in Hamilton. His career-high ATP ranking is No. 1802, achieved on 10 November 2025. His height and precise specialization in one-handed or two-handed strokes have not been officially disclosed.
