Darwin

About the tournament

M25 Darwin is a men's ITF World Tennis Tour tournament held in the city of Darwin, the capital of Australia's Northern Territory. The M25 category is located in the lower part of the professional ladder, just above the entry-level M15, and serves as a venue for young players earning points for the world ranking, as well as for those recovering from injuries or establishing themselves in the top 500–700. The competition is usually hosted by the Darwin International Tennis Centre, a modern complex in the Marrara sports cluster, opened in 2018 and built to ITF standards. According to the available data, the venue has outdoor hard courts with a Plexipave surface, including a covered centre court. Darwin is convenient for organisers thanks to its subtropical climate with a dry season in September, which makes it possible to hold tournaments outdoors in weather comfortable for players and spectators, and also thanks to the relatively low competition for calendar dates in this region of Australia. Several numbered events of the M25 series are often held in Darwin one after another within a single combined seasonal window, which is typical of remote venues seeking to justify the logistical costs of visiting players by means of several tournaments in a row. No separate official website or social media accounts of the hub itself could be found — information is published on the general ITF calendar.
