Burgas

About the tournament

M15 Burgas is a tournament of the men's ITB World Tennis Tour in the very first professional category (M15), held in the coastal city of Burgas on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Such tournaments are the lower step of the ATP/ITF professional ladder: young players starting their careers earn their first ranking points here, as well as players recovering from injuries or establishing themselves in the top 500-1000 of the world rankings. The court surface in Burgas is clay, which is typical for the Balkan region and allows competitions to be held in the warm season with relatively inexpensive court maintenance compared with hard-court arenas. Bulgaria in general and Burgas in particular have become a convenient point of the ITF calendar thanks to a combination of a mild climate, affordable tournament costs and a dense schedule of neighbouring competitions in Eastern Europe, which allows players to move between the cities of the region without long flights. Calendar data for the tournament is available on the official ITF website in the results section. Coverage of the tournament is limited to the official ITF Tennis portal and results aggregators.
