Qian Daohu

About the tournament

M25 Qian Daohu is a tournament of the men's ITF World Tennis Tour series in the M25 category, one of the entry steps of the ATP professional ladder, where points and prize money are minimal, and the core of the participants consists of young players without a ranking or ranked outside the top 500, as well as Chinese players gaining experience on home courts. The tournament is held in the area of Qian Daohu (literally "Thousand Island Lake") in China — a region known for its landscape park and reservoir, where in recent years a modern tennis complex has been built, regularly hosting several ITF editions in a row during the autumn season. Such clustering of tournaments is typical of the Chinese calendar: it is advantageous for organisers to hold several tournaments in a row on the same courts in order to share the costs of logistics, officiating and accommodation of players, and for participants not to spend time and money on moving between cities in order to accumulate ranking points. Matches are played on outdoor hard courts. Information about specific editions is published on the official ITF portal and results aggregators. The level of organisation corresponds to the standard protocol of the ITF World Tennis Tour for the M25 category.
