Luan

About the tournament

M15 Lu'an is a lower-tier tournament on the men's ITF World Tennis Tour, held in the city of Lu'an in Anhui province in eastern China. It is one of the typical ITF "hubs": at the same venue, a whole series of numbered editions are organized back to back over the course of a season (in this case, there are twelve of them), which allows players to earn ranking points without long travel, and lets organizers save on infrastructure and logistics. Matches are played on hard courts, though in different years the tournament has been held both outdoors and indoors, with the venue being a complex known as the Anhui Province Small Ball Training Base, located in the Jin'an district. Such a concentration of tournaments is typical for China, where the ITF and local tennis federations create entire "factories" of entry-level professional competitions, with prize money usually set at 15,000 dollars. The level of participants corresponds to the M15 category, made up mostly of young players just starting their professional careers, university students, and Chinese tennis players using home tournaments to earn their first ATP points. Up-to-date information is published on the official ITF calendar.
