About the tournament
M15 Hurghada is the Egyptian hub of the men's lower-tier ITF World Tennis Tour, where a whole series of numbered M15-category tournaments run back-to-back throughout the season. The events are hosted in the resort area of Hurghada on the Red Sea coast, with the specific venue being the tennis academy at the Sommabay resort complex, a facility with outdoor hard courts. Egypt, alongside Turkey and Tunisia, has long become one of the main "conveyor belts" for grassroots men's tournaments: the warm climate allows play almost year-round, the infrastructure is relatively inexpensive for organizers, and the proximity of several neighboring tournaments makes logistics easier for players and lets them accumulate points with virtually no pauses. These tournaments mostly feature young professionals outside the ATP top 300, college tennis players, as well as athletes recovering from injuries or seeking their first ranking points. The surface remains consistently hard (outdoor), which sets the Hurghada hub apart from many clay-court stops on the calendar elsewhere in the region. The tournament series apparently has no dedicated website or official social media accounts of its own, information on specific editions is published on the official ITF portal.
