About the tournament

M15 Melilla is a men's grassroots category ITF World Tennis Tour tournament held annually in the Spanish autonomous city of Melilla on the northern coast of Africa. The tournament is organized by the Melilla Tennis Federation together with the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation with the support of the city authorities, and it is part of a broader series of competitions known under the general name "Melilla - City of Sport" - under this brand both men's and women's ITF tournaments are held here. The M15 category corresponds to the entry-level professional tier of the men's tour, where young players earning their first ATP ranking points compete, as well as players outside the top 500 using the tournament to maintain their ranking. Matches are played on outdoor clay courts, a surface typical of the Spanish coast and convenient for organizers due to the low maintenance cost in the warm climate. Thanks to its geographical location and mild climate, Melilla regularly hosts such tournaments during the calendar period of late summer and autumn, which allows several M15 and W15 category events to be held in succession on the same courts during the season. The tournament has a long history and is supported by the local autonomous administration, however no separate independent website or official social media accounts specifically for the tournament could be found - the main information is published on the ITF website and local sports media.
