Falun

About the tournament

M25 Falun is a regular tournament on the men's ITF World Tennis Tour series, held annually in the Swedish city of Falun (Dalarna County). The M25 category belongs to the lower tier of the ITF professional ladder — such tournaments feature young players just starting their professional careers, as well as tennis players established in the world ranking's third to fifth hundred who are competing for points to qualify for the main draws of higher-level tournaments. The competition is held on indoor hard courts, which is typical for Scandinavian tournaments organized in late September and early October, when the outdoor season in Northern Europe is already winding down due to the cold. Holding the tournament indoors allows the local tennis federation and club to maintain a schedule of professional competitions regardless of weather conditions. Like many tournaments of this level, M25 Falun is part of a dense network of small prize-money ITF tournaments that help fill the off-season and give players the opportunity to accumulate ranking points close to home, reducing travel costs for Scandinavian and European participants. Up-to-date information on entries, draws, and results is published on the official ITF website.
