Sintra

About the tournament

M25 Sintra is a men's tennis tournament hub in the ITF World Tennis Tour series, category M25, regularly held in the town of Sintra (Portugal), not far from Lisbon. The venue is the Beloura Tennis Academy, located at Alameda da Beloura, Quinta da Beloura, a complex with outdoor hard courts. In the course of a season, not just one but several numbered editions are traditionally held back to back here (I, II, and so on), which is typical for lower-tier ITF tournaments: organizers benefit from using the same infrastructure, officiating crew, and volunteer staff for a series of events, minimizing costs. Portugal's mild Atlantic climate allows tournaments of this category to be held at almost any time of year, making the country a convenient link in the busy ITF calendar for players from Europe and South America. M25 tournaments mostly feature professionals outside the ATP world ranking's top 300, young players starting their careers, and veterans working to rebuild their ranking points. The prize fund for such tournaments is relatively small, and ATP ranking points are awarded at the lower end of the ranking ladder. No official website or active social media specifically for the Sintra hub could be found; there is a Facebook page associated with the organizing academy.
