Chisinau

About the tournament

W15 Chisinau is a women's tournament of the lower tier of the ITF World Tennis Tour professional ladder, held in the capital of Moldova on outdoor clay courts. The W15 category (prize money of $15,000) is the starting step of the adult professional tour, featuring mainly young players just starting their careers, as well as players recovering from injuries or strengthening their WTA ranking points. Such tournaments are often organised in series of two or more consecutive editions at the same venue within a short calendar window — this allows players and their teams to save on travel and logistics, staying in one city for several weeks for several tournaments at once. Chișinău is no exception in this sense: two W15 editions per season are regularly held here. The city is also known for more prestigious tennis events — in particular, since 2025 the men's ATP Challenger "Moldova Open" has been held in Chișinău at the National Tennis Centre, which points to developed local infrastructure suitable for lowest-tier tournaments too. The quality of the clay courts, the availability of venues and the relatively low cost of organisation make Moldova a convenient point for holding a series of ITF tournaments in the warm season. No specific information about an official website or social media of the women's W15 Chisinau tournament specifically could be found.
