Las Vegas

About the tournament

W50 Las Vegas, NV is an edition of a women's professional ITF tournament held in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) as part of a series that existed for many years under different names (Lexus of Las Vegas Open, Party Rock Open, Red Rock Pro Open, later Henderson Tennis Open) and with prize money that changed from edition to edition, in this case 50,000 dollars, which corresponds to the middle level of the ITF women's professional tour, intermediate between the entry-level W15/W25 tournaments and the top W60 and higher tournaments. The competitions were held on outdoor hard courts, mainly at the Red Rock Country Club in Las Vegas, although in some years the tournament was also hosted by the Darling Tennis Center. Such tournaments are typical of the California-Nevada region of the USA thanks to the stable sunny climate, developed tennis infrastructure and the dense calendar of USTA Pro Circuit professional competitions, which makes it possible to organise several editions in a row on the same courts during the season. The level of participants at such tournaments is players ranked in the WTA world top 100-250, often including well-known players recovering from injuries or earning ranking points outside the main tours. The series of tournaments in Las Vegas had an official website, which changed along with the name of the tournament and the sponsors.
