About the tournament

W25 Nashville is a tournament from the entry-level tier of women's professional tennis, the ITF World Tennis Tour, which was scheduled to be held in the city of Nashville, Tennessee, USA, in 2017, with a prize fund of $25,000, on indoor hard courts. The W25 category occupies an intermediate position between the most basic level, W15, and the more prestigious W60/W80/W100 tournaments, serving as a platform for players fighting for WTA ranking points and striving to break into the main tours. Such tournaments are often organized in US cities during the autumn-winter period specifically on indoor courts, since weather conditions do not allow for outdoor play, and the density of the ITF calendar in North America is traditionally high at that time of year. The only planned edition of the tournament in Nashville, in November 2017, was cancelled and did not actually take place.
