Reims

About the tournament

W35 Reims is a regularly held women's professional tennis tournament in Reims, France, in the W35 category of the ITF World Tennis Tour, the second-tier tier between the entry-level W15/W25 tournaments and the higher-level challenger events leading to the WTA. The tournament holds hub status: several numbered editions are held back-to-back on the same courts within a season (or from year to year), which is typical for organizers seeking to fill the calendar tightly and reduce costs on infrastructure, officiating, and logistics. The competition is held indoors on a hard court, making Reims a convenient autumn-winter stop for players who prefer hard courts and aim to accumulate ranking points regardless of weather conditions. The prize fund corresponds to the standard W35 category scale (around 35 thousand dollars), which attracts players ranked in the top 200-400 of the WTA world rankings, as well as young French players using the home tournament to build up points. At various times the tournament has appeared under names such as "Internationaux Reims-Champagne," reflecting its local identity and connection to the Champagne region. Information about the editions is published on the ITF portal and results aggregators.
