Santiago

About the tournament

J200 Santiago (Copa Milo) is a junior tournament from the upper tier of the ITF ladder, held in Santiago on outdoor clay courts. The tournament has existed since 2008 and has changed its name several times over the years to reflect its title sponsors and organizers — "Copa Milo," "Copa FTCH," "Copa IND Palestina" — while remaining the same hub tournament of the Chilean junior calendar. After the 2019 ITF category reform, the tournament, previously classified as Grade 2, received the modern J200 code, retaining its status as one of the key South American events for players under 18. The tournament is run by the Chilean Tennis Federation and for nearly two decades has served as an important stepping stone for Latin American juniors, helping them accumulate ranking points before moving on to the professional tour. Santiago is also well acquainted with the top level of world junior tennis: the city has hosted the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Billie Jean King Cup finals, tournaments through which future stars of the adult tour have passed over the years.
