Czech Barbora Krejčíková defeated Germany’s Anna-Lena Friedsam in the first round of the WTA 500 event in Singapore, 6-0 5-7 7-6(4), to advance to the second round. The tournament is being played on hard courts, and the prize money is $1,2 mln. Friedsam is 260th in the rankings with 294 points, according to rank.tennis.

Krejčíková took the first set 6-0. Friedsam then leveled the match by taking the second set 7-5. The outcome was decided by a tiebreak in the third set, where Krejčíková came out on top, 7-4.
