Daria Snigur (Ukraine) defeated Taylah Preston (Australia) in the round of 32 of the WTA 1000 tournament in Beijing 6-1, 6-0 to reach the round of 16. The news was reported by api.tennis.
In her two previous matches at the tournament, Snigur had dropped the opening set. In the round of 128 she came from behind to beat Katarzyna Kawa (3-6, 6-4, 7-5), and in the round of 64 she did the same against Jasmine Paolini (3-6, 7-6(5), 6-2). Against Preston there was no need for a comeback, as the Ukrainian lost just one game in the entire match.
According to rank.tennis, Snigur is ranked 41st, while Preston sits at 85th.
