Two sets with a minimal margin

Both sets of the final ended with a two-game difference. Zheng took the first 7-5 and won the second 6-4. The final tally was 2-0 in sets, with no need for a third.

The Chinese player's path to the title was uneven. In the first three rounds she played three sets each time: against Anna Kalinskaya (6-7(4), 6-4, 3-0), against Marie Bouzkova (7-6(3), 4-6, 7-5) and against Alina Charaeva (6-1, 2-6, 6-4). After that she needed only two sets: against Elina Svitolina 6-3, 7-6(6), against Elise Mertens 7-5, 6-2, and in the final against Andreeva. Andreeva, after dropping the first set in her opening match against Yue Yuan (3-6, 6-0, 6-0), did not lose another set until the final. She beat Daria Snigur 6-2, 6-2, Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-6(4), 7-6(3), and Nikola Bartunkova 6-2, 6-2.

The rankings ahead of the final favored Andreeva: the fourth seed sits in third place with 6371 points, while Zheng holds the 23rd spot with 2018 points (rank.tennis). The head-to-head record, however, favors the Chinese player 2-0. In 2024 she beat the Russian 5-7, 6-0, 6-4, and the Beijing final, won 7-5, 6-4, marked her second victory in the series.
