The third-seeded German duo defeated home favorites Zhizhen Zhang and Yi Zhou 6-4, 6-1 in the round of 16 at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Shanghai, according to api.tennis.

Earlier, Krawietz and Puetz got past Bart Stevens and Botic Van De Zandschulp in three sets, 6-7, 6-1, 10-4, while their opponents in the previous round had overcome Constantin Frantzen and Robin Haase 6-4, 5-7, 10-7.
