Karolína Muchová of the Czech Republic, seeded seventh at the WTA 1000 event in Beijing, beat Britain’s Katie Boulter 7-6(3) 6-1 in the round of 64. The straight-sets victory sends Muchová into the round of 32 at the hard-court tournament with a prize fund of $9.4 million. Match statistics are provided by api.tennis.
The first set went to a tiebreak. There, Muchová gave up only three points to her opponent and took the set 7-6. There was significantly less of a contest in the second set: Muchová won it 6-1.

According to rank.tennis, Boulter is 54th in the rankings with 1037 points. She began the tournament in Beijing in the round of 128, where she beat Mai Hontama 6-3 6-4. For Muchová, the match against the Brit was her opener in Beijing.
In the head-to-head, the score is now 3:0 in Muchová’s favor. She earned one of those wins in the second round of the US Open by 6-1 6-0. In the next round of that tournament, Muchová lost to Emma Navarro 3-6 5-7.
