Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic has reached the semifinal of the ATP 500 tournament in Tokyo. In the quarterfinal, he defeated Paraguay's Adolfo Daniel Vallejo 6:1, 6:1, api.tennis reports.

The match was Lehecka's most convincing of the tournament. He had needed three sets to get through his two previous rounds, beating Zizou Bergs 6:3, 6:7, 6:3 in the round of 32 and Ugo Humbert 5:7, 6:4, 6:4 in the round of 16.

According to rank.tennis, Lehecka is ranked 18th, while Vallejo sits at 49th. The Paraguayan made it into the main draw through qualifying, and on his way to the quarterfinal he beat Jodar and Matteo Berrettini.
