Two sets, the same score pattern

In the opening set, Kotov allowed Vukic three games. The second set followed the same pattern: the Australian was unable to take the match into a deciding set. Neither set went to a tiebreak.

The previous qualifying round required a deciding set from both players. Kotov beat Martin Damm Jr.: 7-6, 6-7, 6-3. Vukic got past Jie Cui: 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, winning both tiebreaks after dropping the opening set. The head-to-head match was shorter in terms of sets.
